The Life Journey of Amber Lee Waites-Tyson Jacobs
A lady of many gifts. Amber Lee Waites-Tyson Jacobs, affectionately known as "Doll", believed in living and living life to the fullest as well as being in the outdoors.
Born in Marion County, Texas on March 13, 1924, Doll was the eldest daughter of the late Elaska and Essie Mae Tyson. Being the eldest daughter she experienced many things that resulted into a journey that was unique and memorable. Doll joined Gethsemane Methodist Church and was baptized at an early age.
Doll was well known throughout the Cass County, Texas and Caddo Parish, Louisiana communities as a lady of many talents. From fishing on the bayou (Black Bayou) to planting a harvest, Doll believed in using her talents in sharing with others. She along with her husband, the late Jack Jacobs helped many people in the area and were well known for having a fish fry at any given moment.
Doll was a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend and she will be dear missed. Doll left her earthly family on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Atlanta Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Texas at the age of 80 to begin her new journey in the great beyond. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two brothers, Leon and L.C., sister Voriece, and brother-in-law James Durden.
Aunt Doll leaves to mourn her only son, William Parker Goynes Tyson; daughter-in-law Doris Williams Tyson; nine grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Brothers, Dallart (Ida), Rev. Walter (Maudry); William; McArthur (Bonita); Gene (Gladys); Forest (Evelyn); sister, Linnie Mae Durden; Gloria Jean Holden (Todd); and Centennial Tyson-Stewart. Sister-in-Law, Delores, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
