Our Hamlin branch of the family is one packed full of family accomplishment, pride and triumph, as well as disappointment and tragedy.

 

The Hamlin branch of our family tree begins with the birth of Flora Annie Tyson, daughter of Noah Samuel Tyson, Sr. (1808-1874) and wife Caroline STEWART (1842-1917). 

 

Noah was 54 and Caroline 26 when Flora was born.

 

Flora was born on April 2, 1862, in Rodessa, Louisiana and it is there where she met and married Charles Llewellyn Hamlin (1861). The two were blessed with the following children:

 

Flora Ella (1887); Mattie (1889); Pinkie (1892); Lou E (1895); Charles (1896); Earnest (1897); Channie (1898); Mary Jodie (1900); and Willis (1903).
